Seattle United Soccer

Parker started year-round select soccer this year with Seattle United and the season has come to a close just in time to have a little break before next year's tryouts. It was a big commitment, but Parker sure does love soccer and it turns out he's pretty good! One of the parents on the team got some pics of our #27 in action. Take a look at Parker doing work on the soccer field.

Parker & Conway's First Piano Recital

Parker and Conway finally got to perform in their first in-person piano recital at The Royal Room, a live music venue in Seattle! They were both a little nervous to get up in front of the crowd and they were both so proud of themselves when they were done. They did great and they played beautifully!

Monroe Starts T-ball

Monroe is so excited to be doing t-ball! He already had his own baseball mitt, bat, pants, and gloves because...older brothers, and he couldn't be more thrilled to have his own hat and shirt now. He's on a team with some of his best buddies and he's having a blast!

Spring Break in Bend

We were a little too slow in planning for Spring Break this year and all the warm places we wanted to visit were booked up by the time we got around to it. So, we rolled the dice and headed to our new vacation rental house in Bend, hoping that we would get lucky and that it would be unseasonably warm. Instead, it was unseasonably snowy! We woke up to snow pretty much every morning and then the sun would come out and melt it away later in the day.

Grandma Connie, Grandpa Bob, and their dog Molly joined us for a few days and we tried to embrace the snow by heading up to Mt. Bachelor to ski. Conway was all in on joining us until he got stuck in super deep powder, which made it a pretty short trip up to the mountain. In a year when so many places were lacking snow, it's hard to say this, but there was just too much snow for us to enjoy skiing in it.

Back in Bend, we enjoyed some hot tubbing, pool time, foosball-ing, general relaxing, and even some mountain biking when the snow melted away in the afternoons. And we're really looking forward to heading back to Bend when the weather is warmer and drier!

Parker as Grace Hopper

Parker and his classmates each chose a scientist in history to research and then give a speech about them in the first person. Parker chose Grace Hopper, a computer scientist and member of the US Navy who invented the first computer compiler, was a pioneer in computer programming, and coined the term "bug" as it relates to computers. Parker decided to dress up as Grace Hopper for his presentation, which we thought was pretty awesome.

A Long Overdue Playdate

Monroe has been asking for a playdate with his Kindergarten best buddy, Ward, since basically the beginning of the school year. As with many things over the last couple of years, playdates have been tricky, but we finally got these two together after school and they couldn't have been happier or cuter together.
