Parker was super excited about starting first grade! He was excited to pick out his first day of school clothes the night before, excited about packing a snack, excited to meet his teacher, Ms. Diefendorf, and excited to see his friends....and then we got to school. He did ok, but you can see from the picture at his desk that he wasn't totally stoked about me leaving. When I picked him up at the end of the day, though, he gave Ms. Diefendorf a hug on the way out the door. And when I asked how the day went he said, "It was really fun, but a little scary at first." I personally think that sentence is applicable to a lot of what we do and encounter in this life. Well said Parker, our big first grader!
