Adventures with Papa

Our whole family has been so lucky to have David home this summer since the birth of Monroe as he takes full advantage of Microsoft's generous new benefit - three months of infant care leave. It has been a tremendous help to me to have him around making dinners and basically doing all things involving the two bigger boys. And Parker and Conway have had a fantastic summer of adventures with their Papa. Here is one such adventure...

{Phase 1: Load up on bikes - and wave a flag, apparently}

{Phase 2: Picnic lunch and seaplane watching at Gasworks park}

{Phase 3: Ice cream, obviously}

{Phase 4: Take the bus back home - it's a big long hill to ride up}

All Tuckered Out

We've done a lot of traveling lately and I guess it finally caught up with Conway. Upon our return, the boys had independent play time while we were making dinner and when we went in to get Conway, this is what we found - a very tired little boy.

Grandma Lois Turns 90!!

Friends and family gathered from near and far to celebrate the 90th birthday of my grandma, Lois Arlene Keller. We are all so blessed to have this wonderful woman in our lives. And in the picture below she is holding her 11th great-grandchild!

Oh Canada

Our trip to Whistler with the Hueys has become an annual event and this year we were there during the Olympics. First of all, it was kind of fun to watch the Olympics from the home of the 2010 winter Olympics (see the boys watching the Olympics on a big screen in Whistler's Olympic Plaza above). Second, Canadian television programming generally tends to play a lot of the Canadian athletes during the Olympics, which is great if you're stoked to watch each and every Canadian compete.

All of our time on this trip was not spent watching Olympics, though (unless you only count the time the adults spent doing this after the kids went to bed). There was also a fair amount of bike riding and Parker was awesome riding his bike through the off-road obstacles. His riding capability is fantastic - awareness of the other riders around him continues to be his downfall.

There were also rocks to be thrown in the river, hot tubbin' to enjoy, friends to eat, play, and be silly with, and of course the spray park to take advantage of. Also, Monroe was a popular little guy because seriously, look how cute that guy is. It was another super fun Whistler vacation with the Huey family.

{Day one at the spray park was cold and sad}

{Day two made up for it, though}
