Summertime in Chelan

We took our annual summertime trip to Chelan with the Johnsons over the 4th of July this year and that may become the new tradition. There was a kids bike parade around The Lookout inner loop for which the boys enjoyed decorating their bikes/scooters in red, white, and blue and conveniently started right in front of our house. There was a 4th of July house decorating contest which obviously Maison Rouge dominated. And of course there were fireworks after dark and after the kids were in bed. Maybe the kids will stay up to watch the fireworks next year, but this year only the adults were awake late enough to enjoy the show (and I was a last minute decision :-).

There was the usual mischief - pool, hot tub, boating, bikes, smores, water slides, etc. And some new adventures together including fun at The Lookout's new waterfront beach area. Also new this year, FIVE little boys causing havoc around Maison Rouge. That's right. This was Monroe's first visit and although he mostly just slept, it was an all around success.
