Connie & Bob Dean Retired!

 

The end of this past school year marked the end of my parents' long teaching careers - Connie and Bob Dean finally retired!! We couldn't be happier about the prospect of getting to spend more time with them and we celebrated this joyous milestone with them and many of their friends at a retirement party on their little farm in Camas. Parker and Conway also got to "help" them ready their property for the event.

Sprinklers and Ice Cream Sandwiches

 

Hot summer days call for time outside with sprinklers and ice cream sandwiches. Parker and Conway were in heaven as they enjoyed both the other day.

 

 

 

 

 

Presenting Mr. & Mrs. Derek & Anne Immekus!

 

Unfortunately I didn't get even one great photo of the couple, but David recently officiated the wedding of our friends Anne Bettesworth and Derek Immekus. Anne is our dear friend Shannon Johnson's sister and therefore we have been lucky enough to spend a number of vacations and "family" dinners with her. We met Derek on his first date with Anne at Fremont Oktoberfest...and the rest is history... or at least the beginning of what is sure to be a beautiful marriage. The wedding itself was amazing. It started off perfectly as David led a ceremony that was filled with equal parts humor and heartfelt sentiment. The reception began with delicious BBQ and handcrafted wine and beer. Anne's dad Rich supplied his own amazing Riesling and Derek brewed all the beers himself! And then the real fun started... with a giant flip cup tournament! And clearly the bride and groom's team, with the help of David Totten, dominated. It was a perfect start to a marriage that will surely be filled with deep love, attention to detail, a passion for fun (and flip cup), and of course handcrafted beers.

Happy 1st Birthday Reid!

 

Little Reid (of the often mentioned Seattle Johnsons) celebrated turning one year old at a super fun birthday party surrounded by family, friends, water play, crazy kid-driven cars, and cake... for better or worse, lots of delicious cake.
